955,771. Change-speed gear; change-speed gear casings. ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN A.G. July 5, 1962 [Aug. 31, 1961], No. 25912/62. Heading F2D. A motor-vehicle changespeed gear casing 1 is constructed with an output shaft neck as a one-piece casting and is formed with an open flanged front end 2 for connection to a single dividing end wall 4 of a clutch casing 3, the arrangement enabling a gear cluster 5 together with shift rods 7 mounted on a rear support plate 10, to be freely assembled on the clutch casing wall 4 after which the gear-casing 1 is passed axially over them and secured in position at the flange 2, the support plate 10 being secured within the casing 1 by externally projecting axial studs. An intermediate gear 11 and shift device (Fig. 3, not shown), for reverse, are also mounted on the plate 10.
