Abstract

A beryllium-copper alloy contains in percentage by weight <TABS:0955255/C3/1> The alloy may be made by melting the constituents under a charcoal cover and subsequently degassing, preferably with a stream of nitrogen, carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide, whereby finely dispersed carbides and nitrides are formed and provide a grain-refining effect. The Specification also discloses the use of titanium or boron in place of zirconium, and according to the Provisional Specification the alloys may be made by powder metallurgical methods.
