Abstract

Copper-beryllium alloys contain in percentage by weight <TABS:0954796/C3/1> The alloy may be prepared by melting the constituents together under a charcoal cover, and subsequently degassing by nitrogen, carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide, whereby finely dispersed nitrides or carbides are produced which have a grain-refining action. Use of boron to replace zirconium is mentioned. According to the Provisional Specification the alloy may be made by powder metallurgical methods.
