Abstract

Aluminium flake is rendered inert towards polyester solventless synthetic resin current by heating. Preferably the flake coated with a fatty acid lubricant is heated at up to 250 DEG C. or, in the substantial absence of air, up to 300 DEG C. Such powder may be admixed with a resin formed from maleic anhydride, phthalic anhydride and propylene glycol with tricresyl phosphate as plasticizer. The paste so formed has good shelf life. The composition may ge diluted with solvents for brush or spray application.ALSO:Aluminium flake is rendered inert towards polyester solventless synthetic resin current by heating. Preferably the flake coated with a fatty acid lubricant is heated at up to 250 DEG C. or, in the substantial absence of air, up to 300 DEG C.
