Abstract
Wire is covered with insulating material by forming melt of an enamel constituted by a polyester of terephthalic acid without the use of a solvent for the enamel, applying one or more coatings of the molten enamel to the wire, and hardening the enamel covering on the wire by baking. The polyester is polyethylene glycol p glyceroterephthalate, obtained by ester interchange of polyethylene glycol terephthalate by glycerine, the hydroxylic groups being 60 to 70 per 100 structural units of polymer.
