Abstract

Cellulose ester and ether enamels and coating-compositions for electrical apparatus contain an addition of finely divided manganese dioxide in order to inhibit arc trailing. The manganese dioxide may constitute 10--50 per cent of the enamel. Suitable base materials are nitro-cellulose, and cellulose acetate, and these may be associated with resins and synthetic resins and the usual plasticizers and solvents.ALSO:Enamels and coating-compositions for electrical apparatus contain as an addition finely divided manganese dioxide in order to inhibit "arc trailing." The manganese dioxide may constitute 10--50 per cent of the enamel. Suitable base materials are nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate and other cellulose esters, or cellulose ethers; and the enamels may contain resins and synthetic resins and the usual plasticizers and solvents.
