954,556. Electric hot-plates. LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. Oct. 18, 1960, No. 35702/60. Heading H5H. An electric hot-plate having a convoluted electric sheathed wire heating element 6 adapted to be located in or above an opening in the hob 1 of an electric cooker or the like, comprises a reflector 5 located beneath the element having an upstanding portion 9 positioned below and separated from a continuous rim 4 by a channel 16 having side walls 12, 13 inclined to the vertical plane, the end portions of the heating element extending through an opening 7 in the rim of the reflector. The reflector engages a lip 3 of the hob so as to form a closure for the opening therein, and the gradient of the inner side wall 12 of the reflector is preferably less than that of the outer wall 13.
