A couch having transverse slats c, e.g. of plywood, includes elastic supports d, e.g. rubber, for the slats c distributed along the inner surfaces of longitudinal frame members a, the slat ends being locked in engagement with the supports c. Notches located centrally in the slat ends each engage around the neck of an integral T-shaped formation d, on the upper surface of the support c, thee latter being carried by engagement of holes therein with studs e carried by the frame a. The supports c may rest on and be glued to a longitudinal inner shoulder provided on the frame a. Specification 836,761 is referred to.
