933,138. Mattresses. H. M. ADLER. May 29, 1962 [Dec. 26, 1961], No. 20606/62. Class 52 (4). A mattress 2 having uniform thickness head and foot portions 6, 7 and a recessed central portion 5 is supported on a flat top member 8 provided with a flat top rib 10 underlying the recessed central portion 5. The mattress 2 may include coil springs and/or foam rubber and the box-like support member 8 may be rigid, e.g. of hard plastic or plywood. The recessed portion 5 may comprise a transverse channel 3 extending the full width of the mattress.
