Abstract

954,273. Valve bags. STAMICARBON N.V. July 9, 1962 [July 13, 1961], No. 26284/62. Heading B8K. A slit 5 in a plastic bag is covered on the inside by a thin foil 11 which is reinforced by a shorter foil 8. In the polythene bag illustrated the thickness of the larger foil 11 is at most, half that of the bag wall whilst the combined thickness of the two foils 8, 11 is at least that of the bag. The foils may be welded either on 3 edges as in Fig. 1, or only 2, in which case the broad foil 11 projects on either side of the narrower foil. Both the foils and bag may be made of any plastics, either unreinforced or reinforced with fibrous material.
