Abstract

Solid compositions comprising a plant-growth regulant in intimate contact with a waterinsoluble solid resinous carrier which is thermoplastic or solvent soluble according to the parent Specification also comprise or are coated with less than 50% by weight of the composition of at least one substance selected from boric acid, a fluoborate, a metaborate, a pyroborate, monoamino - borontrifluoride, pentachlorophenol or a metal salt thereof. The compositions are preferably in the form of granules or pellets coated with particles of the additive of which at least a major proportion are below 30 microns in size. The term "plant growth regulant" refers to compounds which are defoliants, herbicides, substances causing chlorosis, root-growth promoters and inhibitors and substances which hasten seed germination, promote elongation of stems and petioles, overcome dormancy of plant organs and accelerate the transition from the vegetable to flowering stage. A specified active compound is 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid.ALSO:Solid compositions comprising a plant-growth regulant in intimate contact with a water-insoluble solid resinous carrier which is thermoplastic or solvent soluble according to the parent Specification also comprise or are coated with less than 50% by weight of the composition of at least one substance selected from boric acid, a fluoborate, a metaborate, a pyroborate, monoaminoborontrifluoride, pentachlorophenol or a metal salt thereof.
