A portable grilling appliance, which has a radiant surface 13 mounted on a supporting structure 11 for movement between a substantially horizontal position of use, and a vertical stored position, has feet 10 movably attached thereto so that they can lie within the plan area of the supporting structure 11 when the surface 13 is vertical, and provide a more widely spread base when the surface 13 is horizontal, to prevent the appliance falling over. The feet 10 can be of substantially triangular shape, and be attached to brackets 18 on the supporting structure 11 by bolts 29, so that they can pivot to a position (shown in dotted lines in Fig. 4) beneath the structure 11, and to a projecting position (shown in full lines) when the grill is horizontal. The feet 10 can also be rectangular and pivotally mounted near the front of the base of the supporting structure. Specification 928,041 is referred to.
