633,320. Cooking apparatus. VREDENBURGH, E. Feb. 25, 1948, No. 5674. [Class 28(i)] A grill pan fitting comprises two superimposed grilles 4 and 7, the upper one being mounted on slidable bearings 6 on rods 2. An article of foodstuff is first cooked on one side on the upper grille, which is then slid away from the lower (to the right in the Figure) and swung about a pivot 5 to deposit the article, in an inverted position, on the lower grille for cooking the other side. In a modification the lower grille is pivoted at 9 in two portions so that when an abutment 12 on the pivot 5 strikes tne upstanding portion 11 of the lower grille it causes the latter to pivot. upwards into a vertical position (7c being integral with portion 11) when the lefthand portion 7b falls over on to the upper surface of the foodstuff.and the two grilles are then returned together inverting the foodstuff for cooking on the reverse side.
