951,575. Mechanical garages; endless conveyers. BETEILIGUNGSUND PATENTVERWALTUNGS-GESELLSCHAFT. Oct. 5, 1962 [Oct. 7, 1961], No. 37846/62. Headings B8A and B8E. In a vehicle store wherein vehicle carrying platforms 1 are movable in a vertical circuit by horizontal movement along guideways 13 and vertical movements in lifts 2, each lift is an endless conveyer system. The number of superimposed horizontal guideways may be more than two, and each lift must have at least as many platform carrying devices as there are levels of horizontal movement in the system. Each lift 2 comprises two endless conveyers 3 and each conveyer 3 comprises two chains 4 bridged by ledges 5 each of which can support one edge of a platform 1. The two conveyers 3 of each lift have their ledges 5 in register and are driven together by a common motor 6. A motor 9 drives the platforms along the guideways 13 and the platforms therein are coupled by peg-andslot connections 16, Fig. 3 (not shown), which automatically disengage when one of the platforms is moved vertically by the lift.
