Abstract

951,389. Sawing stone. SECOBLITZINDUSTRIA MECCANICA S.p.A. April 19, 1962 [April 21, 1961], No. 15169/62. Heading B5E. A machine saw installation for cutting blocks of marble into slabs comprises a frame 11, 12, 13, carrying a beam 14 on which a circular saw 16 and its driving means 50, 51 are mounted, means 30, 31, 32, 33 and 42, 43, 44 for laterally and vertically moving the beam in order to determine the thickness of the slabs, a piston- and-cylinder device 27, 28 and control circuit for moving a block-carrying truck 24 at slow speed during cutting and at a fast return speed, and guides 22 for supporting and guiding the truck during cutting. The frame comprises 4 pillars 11 and cross-members 12, 13, the beam 14 being mounted on a slide 34 running on guides 35 formed on the members 12. The beam, on which the saw 16, driven by an electric motor 50 via gears 53 is mounted, is moved by means of an endless chain 32, sprocket 31 and hand wheel 30. The beam is raised by means of four screwjacks 41, 42, 43, 44, Fig. 4, the screws 43 being rotated by a chain-and-sprocket drive 46, 47. The truck 24 is provided with four pairs of wheels, 21, 23, the two pairs 21 running on the tracks 20 and the two pairs 23 running on the guides 22 when the truck is being pulled under the saw by the piston 27. The control circuit includes a valve for controlling pressurized oil to one end of the cylinder 28 in order to effect fast return of the truck and a throttle valve for limiting the speed of the truck during cutting. The piston is connected to the truck by means of a coupling 25, 26.
