Abstract

951,223. Bearings. KLINGER MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. Sept. 6, 1962 [Aug. 3, 1961], No. 28320/61. Heading F2A. [Also in Division D1] A spindle e.g. a false twisting tube (see Division D1), is supported in " floating " manner and frictionally driven by engagement of a shank 10 and a groove 15 with the resilient rims of overlapping driving and idler wheels 33 and 35, 14, the latter rotatably mounted on a pivotable arm 30 and urged by a spring 31 towards the spindle. The groove is flanked by flanges 20, 21, with diverging conical faces 22, 23, its cylindrical surface 24 is slightly e.g. 30 thousandths of an inch, longer than the cylindrical periphery 25 of wheel 14, and the angular clearance 28 between face 23 and chamfer 27 on wheel 14 is about 10 degrees. The wheels may be formed from polyurethane rubber.
