Abstract

951,126. Protective systems; rectifying. ENGEL & GIBBS Ltd. Oct. 2, 1962 [July 3, 1961], No. 23946/61. Headings H2F and H2K. Failure of any phase of a threephase supply system 10-12 reduces the sum of the rectified outputs of the three secondary windings 17-19 of a transformer 13, thus reducing the temperature of a contact thermometer 40 to open its contacts 41, 42 and break the circuit of a relay 43, thus to energize a warning device 49. In a modification, the thermometer contacts are alternatively connected across a lamp which is in series with a supply and a resistor. The thermometer normally shunts the lamp but on phase failure the lamp is illuminated.
