Abstract

950,361. Tinting polyamides for identification. BRITISH NYLON SPINNERS Ltd. March 26, 1962 [March 17, 1961], No. 9753/61. Heading B5B. Textile materials of synthetic linear polyamides are tinted for the purpose of temporary identification so that the colour can be easily removed by a normal scouring bath even after high temperature processing by applying to the textile materials in an aqueous medium a basic dyestuff together with a stoichiometrical excess of an anionic surface-active dispersing agent. The specified polyamides are polyhexamethylene adipamide, polyhexamethylene sebacamide, poly - epsilon - caprolactam and poly - omegaaminoundecanoic acid and the specified dispersing agents are sodium methylene dinaphthalene disulphonate, sodium oleyl sulphate, sodium oleyl p-anisidine sulphonate, sodium bis-(2-ethylhexyl) methyl sulphate, sodium stearate and the oleate of sodium isethionate. Examples are given.
