Abstract

1446888 Dyeing polyamides SOPROSOIE 6 Dec 1973 [6 Dec 1972] 56654/73 Heading D1B Polyamide based textile materials are dyed by treating in an aqueous bath containing a dye, a plurality of anionic levelling agents, a weak cationic complexing agent, a sulphur containing organic reducing agent and a detergent and dispersing agent. These are preferably two anionic levelling agents which may be e.g. sodium α, α'-dinaphthyl methane-#, #'-disulphonate and an alkali metal, ammonium or amine salt of an alkylaryl-sulphonic or polyalkylarylsulphonic acid, preferably the weak cationic complexing agent is a condensation product of ethylene oxide with an aromatic amine or long chain fatty amine; thiourea and N-alkyl-thiourea being used as sulphur containing reducing agents, ethoxylated and sulphated C 8 to C 20 fatty alcohols being used as detergent and dispersing agents. Nylon 6 and 66 may be dyed.
