Abstract
949,813. Presses. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.G. June 6, 1962 [June 14, 1961], No. 21851/62. Heading B5F. A press frame comprises spaced yokes 1, which may be semi-cylindrical, between which are two pillars 3 having at their ends integral yoke-engaging protrusions A, B, C, the extension of which protrusions perpendicular to the face A, C is small at their outer edge, and increases towards their base, the whole being subjected to prestressing means 2, e.g. strongly prestressed loops of metal, which press the yokes 1 towards each other against the pillars 3. So-called equalization blocks 4, having similar protrusions to the pillars, may be interposed between the pillars. The protrusions are intended to reduce the contact pressure between the pillars and the yokes and to reduce the risk of failure due to fatigue. Various examples of the design of the protrusions A, B, C are given, e.g. Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown).
