Abstract

948,702. Screw conveyer unloading vehicles. RENNER CO. April 17, 1962, No. 14773/62. Headings B8A and B8E. A conveying machine adapted to be detachably connected to and hauled by a truck 10, having a tailgate 11, for unloading it and for depositing the contents at the curb side, comprises a framework 14, 15 supporting an inclined screw conveyer which is enclosed in a trough member 17 and vertically extending side members 30, 31. The apparatus is detachably secured to the truck 10 as by hooks 12 and cables 13. The screw conveyer is driven by an internal combustion engine 23 through a gear-box 26 and a clutch 25 which latter is controlled by spaced levers 56. The conveyer extends laterally of the truck body where it is supported in a bearing 28 adjacent a delivery portion 16. Adjustable legs 19, 20 are provided to support the apparatus at the desired inclination and while it is detached from one vehicle prior to its attachment to another.
