Abstract

948,476. Moulds for gramophone records &c. W. BATTENFELD. July 7, 1961 [March 22, 1961], No. 24698/61. Heading B5A. Improved strain free reproduction for thin section parts e.g. gramophone records, results from the use of a mould having a cavity 21 formed by a stationary die core 12 circumscribed by a spring supported and vertically movable annular sealing frame 10 which acts also as support for a matrix plate 20. Synthetic plastics material is fed to the cavity by injection through and from below the bottom force 12 Fig. 1 or laterally from a worm fed nozzle, Fig. 4 (not shown), and moulded by moving a top face 11 towards the bottom face 12 and into contact with matrix plate 20. Conical mating surfaces 17 and 18 are provided for alignment on the bottom force 10 and top force 11 and the bottom force 10 is sprung either by coil springs 16 or hydraulic or pneumatic means (not shown). Sealing frame 10, top force 11 and bottom force 12 may be provided with channels for heating or cooling medium.
