Abstract
<PICT:0947724/C3/1> <PICT:0947724/C3/2> In a process for preparing aluminium shot, the molten charge 12 runs through a conduit 14 into the rotating pot 16 which has holes 18 in its side. The aluminium is ejected from holes 18 by centrifugal force and falls in the form of droplets through the air into the water 22 contained in a circular tank 20. The temperature of the water is kept down by circulating fresh water in at pipe 24 and taking off hot water at pipe 26, Fig. 2 (not shown). The support 28, Fig. 3, of the pot 16 is provided with a cam 38 which gives the pot a jar on each revolution thus helping to detach the shot from pot 16. U.S.A.
