947,404. Tray-like cartons. ANCIENS ETABLISSEMENTS WALTON & PLACE. Dec. 12, 1960 [Dec. 10, 1959], No. 42742/60. Heading B8P. A tray-like container made from a blank of corrugated cardboard comprises a base 1, side forming strips 3, 4 doubled over about crease 5 to form reinforced side walls, endforming strips 6, 7 with the strip 7 folded about fold line 8 to extend inwardly to cover the adjacent end of the tray and provided at its extremities with flaps 7d and 7e so that the former lie against the adjacent side 3 and the latter engage in slots 11 cut in the base of said side. To the erected position flaps 7e are locked in position by projections 10 engaging cut-outs 9 and the end forming strip 7 contact the seatings formed by cut-outs 12. The containers are suitable for the display of fruit and vegetables. With corrugated cardboard it is desirable for the corrugations to be disposed parallel to the longer sides so that they are vertical in the end walls, which are intended to support the weight of stacked containers.
