Abstract

A veterinary preparation for combating endoparasites in animals by intravenous injection, comprises a physiologically tolerable organic phosphonic, thiophosphoric or phosphoric acid ester, a vagolytic agent, and an oxime capable of reactivating cholinesterase, in admixture with a pharmaceutically suitable carrier. Specified oximes are acetone oxime, furfural oxime, the N-methyl-hydroxyiminomethyl pyridinium iodides, diacetyl monoxime g N : N - trimethylene - bis - (4 - hydroxyiminomethylpyridinium bromide). Specified phosphonic and thiophosphoric acid esters are b ,b ,b -trichloro - a - hydroxyethyl - phosphonic acid dimethyl ester and its formyl, acetyl, propionyl and butyryl acylates and 2 : 4 : 5-trichlorophenyl-dimethyl thiophosphate. Specified vagolytic agents are atropine, homatropine and the salts thereof with organic or inorganic acids e.g. atropine sulphate. The carrier may be a solvent e.g. a polyhydric alcohol or ether thereof such as glycol, polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether, polyethylene glycol.
