Abstract
946,142. Valves. BRITISH THERMOSTAT CO. Ltd. March 30, 1962 [April 10, 1961], No. 12825/61. Heading F2V. A thermostatic valve for refrigerators has an adjustment for varying the superheat setting, i.e. the difference between the saturation temperature of refrigerant downstream of the valve and the refrigerant temperature in the evaporator at the phial location, namely eccentric 19 on adjustment spindle 17 engaging groove 20 in the valvo seat 9 slidable in passage 13 between inlet 26 and outlet 27, and a further adjustment to suit the valve to any refrigerant, namely screw 25 adjusting spring 12 loading the valve 6 on its seat. A factory adjustment of the valve is made via screw 8 supporting the valve 6, the valve being moved via thermal capillary 5 and annular bellows 3, 4.
