1481794 Valves A S MILLER 17 July 1974 [11 Aug 1973 10 Jan 1974] 38138/73 Heading F2V [Also in Division F4] A thermostatic valve for controlling flow between lines 14 and 15 in dependence on the temperature in a pipe 3, comprises a volume of fluid containing in a capasule 24 attached to pipe 3, a tube 25 and the upper part of a chamber 23 divided by a diaphragm 22, so that temperature changes in pipe 3 produce pressure changes in the volume of fluid which thus cause the diaphragm 22 to move up and down to correspondingly move an attached valve stem 20 to control flow through orifice 17. Spring 18 and screw 19 can adjust the setting of the valve.
