946,004. Reinforcing rod spacing devices; embedded attachments for suspended ceilings. UNIVERSAL BUILDERS SUPPLY CO. Inc. Sept. 11, 1961 [Sept. 16, 1960], No. 32579/61. Heading E1V. Means for spacing reinforcing rods above a form consists of a bolster rod 1, Fig. 1 spaced keying sections 3 on the rod and a plastic spacer 2 having an attachment portion 4 moulded over each keying section, said spacer having a depending portion with foot means for resting on the support. The foot means may have spaced contact points 5, 6, 7 for engaging the form. In another embodiment, the spacers 25, Fig. 3, are shaped as inverted cups each traversed by a rod 35 which provides an attachment for the hanger of a suspended ceiling. Several other embodiments employing alternative forms of spacer are described.
