An apparatus for dispensing liquids e.g. insecticides in the form of a fog comprises a nozzle 14 connected to an atomizer spray gun (11, 12 and 13), which is capable of forcefully ejecting an atomized spray of said liquid through the nozzle, an elongate barrel 17 aligned in front of and spaced from said nozzle so that atomized spray is impelled into the barrel and concomitantly aspirates air from outside to provide passing through the barrel an atomized liquid/air mixture and means, e.g. an electrical coil 18 controlled by a thermostat 19, for heating the barrel so that the atomized liquid is vaporized upon passing through and into contact with the hot barrel. The barrel may be attached to the nozzle by a bracket (22, 23, 24 and 25) or spacing elements 68, see Fig. 5, extending rearwardly from the barrel. An elongate tube 21 may be disposed within the electrical coil 18, said tube having a smooth interior surface. The nozzle can be arranged to eject the liquid in an expanding cone of atomized spray with the elongate barrel 17 aligned in front of and spaced from said nozzle to define an annular passage about the periphery of said cone of spray and with the elongate barrel tapering from the inlet to the outlet thereof.
