[Also in Division F4] In an electric fan heater in which the fan draws in air through filter elements and passes it over one or more heating elements (see Division F4) push button control of the electrical circuits is provided permitting the fan to run at slow speed with the heater circuits inoperative, at slow speed with one or more heaters operative, at high speed with the heaters inoperative and at high speed with one or more of the heaters operative. The circuit diagram, Fig. 3, shows an electric motor 9 which drives the fan, heating elements 11, 12, a thermostat 17, the fan housing 10, a mains indicator lamp 16, a diverter resistance 18 and a set of push buttons A . . . E. Depression of these buttons has the following effects : Button A mechanically releases any button previously depressed. B energizes the fan motor 9 to run at slow speed through the diverter resistance 18. C energizes the fan motor to run at relatively fast speed by shorting out the resistance 18. D energizes the heater 11. E energizes the heater 12. Button B is wired in series with the other buttons and acts as an " on switch," the mains indicator lamp operating in conjunction with this button.
