A fastening clip is formed from a synthetic plastics material and comprises two corrugated jaws 10, 17 formed in one piece and being connected by a spring bridge piece, and a cover 16 pivoted to the jaw 10 at 14/15 and having a cam 18 which co-operates with a detent on the jaw 17 to hold the clip in its closed position. An eyepiece 11 holds, for example, the rubber band of a suspender. In a modification each of the jaws comprises a square toothed rim 21, 22, the rims being of different widths so that one engages within the other during the clamping operation. Also an abutment 25 limits the depth to which the material may be pushed between the jaws. The pivot 23 engages in a transverse groove 24 and is held in position by the pretensioning of the two jaws.
