Abstract
942,854. R.F. couplings. NIPPON ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 27, 1961 [Nov. 15, 1960], No. 38564/61. Heading H4A. [Also in Division H1] Non-reciprocal waveguide devices (see Division H1) are utilized to switch any selected one of n transmitters to an aerial. In the switch of Fig. 12, the symmetrical arms 110, 111 of an E-plane junction are each provided with non- reciprocal devices arranged with pairs of conductive fins nearest the junction ; each device is so positioned that, as a reflector, it matches the opposite symmetrical arm to the output arm 101, whereby either device may be energized to direct energy propagated through the other (unenergized) device to the output. Energy directed into the energized device from an external source is absorbed by the device. In a modification (Fig. 16, not shown), the symmetrical arms are made of circular waveguide and, in a further modification, the symmetrical arms are mutually perpendicular. A matching septum is arranged in the output arm 101. The Specification contains a brief description of a junction utilizing four non-reciprocal input arms. Specification 733,486 is referred to.
