Abstract

730,219. Wave-guides. AIRTRON, Inc. Oct. 23, 1952 [Nov. 29, 1951], No. 26630/52. Class 40 (8). A wave-guide switch comprises a casing 20 to which wave-guide terminals 26a, 26b, 26c, 26d, 26e, 26f, and 26g are connected, and which contains rotatable switch member 30 containing a number of curved switching tubes 60e, 60f and 60g, tube 60e being capable of connecting the first two wave-guide terminals, and tube 60f being incapable of this, but able to connect the first and third terminals in another position of the rotor 30. A third tube 60g is also shown capable of joining terminals of still wider spacing than those joined by tube 60f. If the tubes and terminals are of rectangular cross-section with their larger sides transverse to the axis of rotation of member 30, leakage at the gap between the tubes and terminals may be reduced by arranging for the edges of the larger sides of the tubes and terminals to overlap. As a further precaution these overlapping portions may be in contact. Specifications 635,900 and 675,741 are referred to.
