942,238. Welding by fusion. DEGGENDORFER WERFTUND EISENBAU GESELLSCHAFT. May 17, 1962 [May 19, 1961], No. 18983/62. Heading B3R. In a welding machine for making annular welds, the torch or at least a part thereof to which the leads supplying, e.g. gas, flux or current, are connected is rotatable relative to a support in which the torch is eccentrically mounted and which is rotatable about the weld axis. In a machine for making an external weld 12, Fig. 1, between a tube 13 and a tube plate 14, a consumable electrode torch 9 is freely rotatable in a sleeve 7 ball-jointed in the support 4 which is rotated by a motor through a worm drive 3. The support 4 and worm drive 3 are adjustably mounted on an arm 1. A spring-loaded aligning device 18 is carried by the support 4. In a modification, the inner part 21, Fig. 3, of the torch to which the leads 15 are connected and through which the electrode 11 is fed is rotatably mounted in the outer casing part 20 on which is formed a ball joint 22 for mounting in the support 4.
