[Also in Division B5] A portable cutting-off machine comprises a base member 5 having clamping means 11 to hold the work 12 e.g. tubes, bar stock or timber, an arm 2 pivoted to the base, a motor-driven cutting disc 8 movable with the arm, and a leaf or coil spring 6 located between the arm and the base to return the arm to its inoperative position. A stop 7 limits the return movement of the arm 2. The cutter may be a grinding disc, for metal cutting, or a circular saw. The cutter unit may be a self-contained portable grinder.
