941,432. Transformers. K. MAECKER. Dec. 23, 1959, No. 23598/63. Divided out of 941,431. Heading H1T. One or more relays 9 (Fig. 1) for machine control are energized by, or under the control of, a transformer having a primary winding 5 on one limb and at least one other limb 6 carrying a secondary winding 7, a core member 2 adapted to tilt about a pin 3 disposed at right-angles to a longitudinal central plane extending through the core being movable between two positions in one of which a relay 9 is energized. An extra secondary winding feeding another relay may be arranged on a further limb 10. Fig. 4 shows the transformer enclosed in a plastic or aluminium " limit switch " housing 20, the movable yoke 2 being operated by a fork 16 which is actuated through a lever and cam arrangement by a roller 21 when the latter is struck by a moving part on the machine to be controlled. The movable yoke may be moved manually. It may be moved gradually by a toothed segment and gear-wheel (Fig. 8, not shown) or the snap - action caused by the magnetic attraction may be increased by a spring (Figs. 5 and 5a, not shown). The relay may be designed for A.C. and shunted by a capacitor. Instead of feeding the relay(s) direct the transformer may energize or control the energization of the control winding of a magnetic amplifier (Fig. 7, not shown).
