940,225. Weighing apparatus. GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE A. G. Jan. 8,1962 [Jan. 7, 1961], No. 617/62. Heading G1W. A device for weighing material conveyed in a mine comprises a container 3 into which the material is loaded and dynamometer rings 7 responsive to the weight of the container, each ring having a radial slit 10 transverse to the direction of the load P so that the width of the slit provides a measure of the weight, which is indicated by a device 12. The device 12 can be checked by the use of a micrometer 13, in conjunction with a calibration chart. The ring 7 has supporting knife edges 14, 14<SP>1</SP> whereby any movement of its supports is taken up by tilting of the ring. The readings from several rings may be added electronically. The dynamometer rings may also be used in connection with weigh nets.
