A razor blade dispenser comprises an upper member 10 which may be of plastics and a.lower member 16 which may be of metal and which snap-fits on to the upper member. The uppermost blade is dispensed through a slot 32 from an upwardly spring-stressed stack 37 by forward movement of a slide 34 which engages, by means of projections 42 thereon, the rear edge of the blade. To prevent the dispensing of more than one blade at a time a vertically-yieldable post 45 is provided which passes through aligned slots 38 in the blades and which is maintained in a depressed position by a projection 46 when the slide 34 is in its rearmost position. The projections 42 project by less than the thickness of a single blade below the slide 34 and the projection 46 by more than the thickness of one blade, but less than the thickness of two blades. With forward motion of the slide the uppermost blade is slid over the post 45, but any forward movement of the blade next below is blocked by the post, the effectiveness of the block increasing since the post rises after passage thereover of the projection 46. The post 45 is made by suitably bending and attaching together plates 55, 56 (see Fig. 9) bent from a resilient sheet-metal plate 50, which plate forms a false bottom for the dispenser. In the uppermost position of the post i.e. with its horizontal top surface above the level of the lower surface of the slide, the sheet 50 is unflexed. U.S.A. Specification 2,792,933 is referred to.
