Abstract

938,010. Swaging machines. GES. FUR FERTIGUNGSTECHNIK UND MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. Feb. 1, 1960 [Feb. 4, 1959], No. 3413/60. Class 83 (4). Machine for swaging quadrangular section workpieces 1 comprises four simultaneouslyacting radial hammers 3, 4 spaced 90 degrees apart, each hammer having at its impact face a length, transverse of the workpiece axis, greater than the corresponding side of the workpiece, the impact faces of adjacent hammers being staggered in the direction of the workpiece axis. Each hammer 3 has two inwardly projecting ledges 5, 6 and each hammer 4 has two inwardly projecting ledges 7, 8. These ledges have inclined entrants such as 5a, 6a. The front ledges 5, 7 are wider than the rear ledges 6, 8. A further embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown), is described for rectangular section workpieces.
