Abstract

937,775. Packaging-machines. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE-GESELLSCHAFT. March 30, 1961 [April 1, 1960], No. 11614/61. Class 94(1). A device for folding down the sealed ends of filled bags &c. consists of a series of folding and pressing elements arranged on a single rotating roller. The bags as shown in Fig. 1 are fed, sealed end first, against the roller perpendicular to its axis. A block 8 folds down and presses the seam 5 and strips 9 first raise portions 3, 4 at right angles to the end face and then fold them down on to it. Finally a strip 10, which may thicken radially, presses the closure. The strip may be heated to seal the closure in position.
