937,334. Gauges; indicating algebraic errors. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. April 5, 1962, No. 13227/62. Classes 106 (2) and 106 (4). A gauge for indicating the algebraic sum of errors for measurements made simultaneously at a number of locations on a workpiece (e.g. to assess the throat area accuracy of a nozzle guide vane of a gas turbine engine) comprises fixed and movable feelers 12-19, the movable feelers 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18 being pivotable (as shown in Fig. 3) to cause axial movement of an associated slider rod through a pin-andslot connection. The slider rods are integral with blocks carrying gears 44, 42, 41, 47 and 48, respectively, which on displacement impart rotation through the gear train 41-51 to give an algebraic sum of movement to a rack 40 indicated on the dial gauge 34. In another embodiment displacement of the feelers rotates the associated gears. An abutment member 84 locates the workpiece true.
