935,584. Slide-rules. ARMSTRONG CORK CO. Ltd., and S. L. SCARLETT-SMITH. July 26, 1962, No. 28802/62. Class 106 (1). A slide rule comprises a stock 1 provided with four logarithmic scales S, A, D and F indicating respectively units of value, length and two scales of numerical units, and a slider 2 having three logarithmic scales B, P and C indicating respectively units of length, value and a scale of numerical units. Scales B and P are respectively the inverse of scales A and S. A cursor, not shown, is slidably supported on the stock. Calculations may be made of the cost of covering an area with a material whose cost per unit area is known, of areas of circles &c. The slide rule may be of flat rectangular, flat circular or of cylindrical construction.
