Abstract

935,439. Insulating tape. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 25, 1962 [Aug. 3, 1961], No. 28267/61. Class 140. An insulating tape comprises mica paper having on one side a film of epoxy resin which is applied by depositing molten solventless resin on one surface of the mica paper and subsequently passing the coated mica paper through hot rollers. As shown, mica paper from drum 1 passes through guide rollers 2 and is conveyed on belt 3 under heated vessel 4 containing molten solventless epoxy resin. Having been coated with resin, the coated mica paper passes through hot rollers 5 and is separated from the belt at roller 6, passes under cooling fan 7 and wound on shaft 8 with an interleaving film from spool 9.
