Abstract
935,009. Mould and core materials. UNITED STATES INSULATOR CO. Ltd. May 8, 1962 [May 8, 1961], No. 16626/61. Class 83 (1). A mould coating comprises at least one primary layer consisting substantially entirely of metal with a major proportion of Ni and a minor proportion of Cr with or without other metals, and at least one secondary layer containing alumina and a metal component having a major proportion of Ni and a minor proportion of Cr with or without other metals, the alumina content of at least the outermost secondary layer being at least 15%. A final layer of alumina may be applied and the surface sealed as with a silicone resin. The layers are applied by flame-spraying, and the mould surface may be roughened.
