Abstract

934,938. Rings. M. MANNE, and H. PETERSON. April 1, 1960 [May 28, 1959], No. 11562/60. Class 43. A finger ring comprises a ring head 12 and an expandible ring shank 20 having an elongated integral curved shank 14, the ends of which being connected to first and second curved connecting sections each of the connecting sections having a pair of slidably interconnected links 22, 24 or 22<SP>1</SP>, 24<SP>1</SP>, means slidably connecting one link of the pair to the adjacent end of the shank section and a spring 26, 26<SP>1</SP> extending through the pair of links and connected under tension between the shank section and the other link of the pair, the shank and first and second connecting sections co-operating to provide an expandible shank, means being provided to connect the other link of the pair of links to the adjacent end of the ring head. The connecting link 22 has a bar 22g which engages in a slot 16d behind a projection 16e in the ring head 12 and a connecting member 16c thereon slides in a slot 22h in the end of the link 22. The projection 16e is pressed inwardly to secure the ring head and link together. The other end of the link 22 has two pins 22e, 22f which engage behind projections 24j, 24k on the link 24 and a connecting member 24e on the link slides in a slot in the link 22 and the links are joined together by pressing the projections over the pins. The link 24 is similarly joined to the end of the curved shank 14. A ball 28 in a seating 20i in the shank anchors one end of the spring 26 and the other end is anchored by a pin 30 in the link 22. The other half of the ring is similarly constructed except that the ring head has no projections 16e and instead, a screw-threaded pin secures the ring head to the link 22<SP>1</SP>. Specification 821,182 is referred to.
