934,130. Weighing-apparatus. P. I. DINESS, and H. NIELSEN. Jan. 17, 1962, No. 1746/62. Class 143. An automatic feed weigher, especially for grain, of the kind having a weighing container divided into two parts and supported so that it may be tilted to bring the compartments alternately below an inlet passage, doors at the bottom of the compartments being alternately opened and closed on the tilting so that one compartment is filled while the other is emptied, is provided with an additional door to the inlet passage connected to a lever mechanism and with a step counting device having an adjustable release mechanism to act on the lever mechanism to close the door after a predetermined number of steps. The door 11 is carried by one arm 12 of a two-armed lever 12, 13, the other arm of which is connected by a drawbar 14 with a second twoarmed lever 15, 16, the arm 16 of which carries a stop 17 located beneath the arm 18 of a twoarmed lever 18, 19. The arm 18 carries a weight 20 and the arm 19 a bar 21 engaging a pivoted pawl 22 which retains the arm 18 in raised position so that the door 11 is not closed. An arm 23 on the pawl 22 projects into the path of a pin 24 on a counting disc 25 which is advanced stepwise by a pawl 26 operated by a lever mechanism 27, 28, 29 each time the container tilts. After a preselected number of steps, equivalent to a predetermined weight of material, the pin 24 engages the lever 23 releasing the bar 21 from the pawl 22 so that the lever 18, 19 tilts, thereby tilting the levers 15, 16 and 12, 13 causing the door 11 to close. In order to stop the feed in the event of obstruction of the discharge, the discharge shoot is suspended at one side by a lever 31 and at the other by a lever 32 having a second arm 33 carrying a counterweight 34 and connected by levers 35, 36 to a lever 37 acting on the stop member 17, the weight of material accumulated in the shoot causing this to sink so that the member 17 acts on the lever 15, 16 to bring about the closing of the door 11.
