Abstract

933,941. Ice-detectors and alarms. W. TREVOR. March 26, 1962 [Jan. 28, 1961], No. 3356/61. Class 118. An ice-detection and alarm system, particularly for mounting on a motor vehicle or by the side of a road, comprises a bi-metal C which engages contact C<1> when the temperature falls sufficiently to energize relay d<2> and lights a lamp e<1>. The lamp g<1> in Fig. 2, is flashed by the provision of a resistance f<5> which heats up when bi-metal f engages contact f<1 >so causing the bi-metal to open the lamp circuit intermittently on sufficient drop of temperature. Two bi-metals may be provided (Fig. 3, not shown).
