Abstract

932,221. Cricket bats. SLAZENGERS Ltd. May 17, 1962 [May 18, 1961; Aug. 1, 1961], Nos. 18141/61 and 27840/61. Class 132 (2). The bottom 3 of a cricket bat is protected and reinforced by cementing on a preformed shoe of plastics material or applying a layer of plastics material. The bottom of the bat may be provided with a shallow slot to receive a tongue 4, Fig. 3, therein, or may be provided with a deep slot to receive laminated reinforcement 6, Fig. 5. The laminated reinforcement alternatively may project into a slot in the plastic shoe, Fig. 6, or in fact may terminate flush with the shoe, Fig. 4.
