Abstract
932,023. Centrifugal strainer separators. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. Aug. 16, 1961 [Sept. 8, 1960], No. 29567/61. Class 46. A centrifuge for de-watering fine granular material comprises a sieve drum 1 which is rotated by a motor 12 through belts 11, and simultaneously oscillated in the axial direction by a motor 16 through a double-acting piston 20, Fig. 2, which projects into a rotatably mounted central cylinder 23 held in a sieve drum cover 30. A compartment 34 on one side of the piston communicates with another compartment 35 on the other side of the piston through one or more transfer passage ways 39, the two compartments being connected through the passage way and a horizontal bore 38 and non-return leaf spring valve 41 to a bore 37 in connecting rod 18, which is supplied with pressure oil. The bottom plate 2 of the sieve drum is supported between oscillatory springs e.g. rubber blocks 13, 14. Material to be de-watered is fed in at 45, liquid is drained from a stationary container 48 at 49, and solids, after rising up the sieve drum 1, discharge over a flange and between the container 48 and an outer wall to a bunker 47. Alternatively the piston may be provided with piston rings and have axial bores as transfer passages between the compartments.
