Abstract
931,594. Oil pollution. DOWTY MARINE Ltd. Nov. 13, 1961 [Nov. 14, 1960], No. 39067/60. Class 46. [Also in Group XXXIII] Means for substantially dispersing or substantially disposing of oil from an oil-polluted liquid comprises a floatable vessel (single hull type 11 in Fig. 1 or catamaran type in another embodiment-(see Group XXXIII) having at least one pump 12 (driven by engine 13), a scoop device 19, 20 arranged to collect and direct (via intakes 14, 15 and ducts 16, 17) the oil-polluted liquid to the pump, and a device for adding to the oil-polluted liquid either in the pump and/or in advance of the pump, an oil dispersing chemical substance, such as a detergent, whereby the oil-polluted liquid and the chemical substance are mixed together by the pump.
